Our Oil and gas practice continues to support clients in the establishment of several working arrangements for projects in the oil & gas sector in Nigeria and other African countries. We regularly assist clients and their technical partners in drafting and negotiating related industry agreements including drafting and reviewing Joint Operating Agreements (JOA), Production Sharing Contracts (PSC’s), Factoring Agreements, Joint Bid Agreements, Petroleum Agreements, Farm-in Agreements and Crude Handling Agreements (CHA).
We provide legal, regulatory and compliance support for oil & gas companies operating in Nigeria and in the Nigerian Sao Tome Joint Development Zone (JDZ) including in complying with environmental, local content and other regulatory requirements. Our experience includes developing and supporting companies to deploy related policy guidelines and to train staff and stakeholders on understanding and implementing sector related policies, regulations, and laws.
We have advised and assisted foreign and local oil companies, private and publicly quoted companies with meeting requirements of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS) registrations, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), Nigerian Petroleum Exchange (NPEX), expatriate quota and in securing related industry approvals.
We assist oil service companies in negotiations and agreements with operators and different investors. We have supported and helped to structure arrangements for external investor’s participation in the development of existing concessions, and licenses and in obtaining related regulatory approvals.
