Cornelius is a Notary Public of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with over 20 years’ experience in commercial and IP litigation, debt recovery and asset tracing, intellectual property and brand protection, labour and employment, public and private procurement advisory and regulatory and compliance. His dispute resolution experience cuts across state and federal high courts, appellate courts, commissions of inquiry and other judicial and quasi-judicial bodies recognised by law.

He has advised and represented a leading telecommunication company in a copyright infringement action and defended a top network provider and Freemantle Media in the multimillion X Factor trademark infringement action. He has represented a frontline social media platform, a pioneer automobile and manufacturing company, banks and other financial institutions, real estate conglomerates, high net worth individuals, public and private entities, amongst others; in resolving contentious and non-contentious commercial disputes ranging from trademark, copyright and infringement actions, defamation and content removal, termination and dismissal, breach of contract, debt recovery, financial and economic crimes, labour and unionization disputes, amongst others.

He provides guidance on the implementation of public procurement laws, state revenue laws and anti-corruption laws and policies at both the national and state levels. He also provides practical advisory support for MDAs on implementing Public Procurement Act 2007 and support the procurement reforms and training on the use of new standard bidding documents (SBD) for procurement officers from different geo-political zones.

He advises on direct foreign investment and regulatory requirements for doing business in Nigeria and liaises with regulatory bodies for procurement of pre and post regulatory approvals. He is vast in crisis management, risk assessment and profiling, regulatory framework and compliance with anti-money laundering laws, policies and other instruments.

Cornelius holds an LL. B (Hons) from Benue State University, Makurdi and a BL from the Nigerian Law School. He has a post graduate certificate in International Commercial Litigation and Arbitration from the London School of Economics (LSE), United Kingdom; a Senior Management Program (SMP) certificate from Lagos Business School, Pan Atlantic University and a certificate in Oxford Leading Professional Service Program from Said Business School, an affiliate of the University of Oxford, United Kingdom.

He is a Member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Section on Law Practice (SLP) and Section on Business Law and a Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration.
