We undertake legal due diligence and sector legal analysis in support of digital product development and resolution of product related compliance and customer complaints. Our services in this area has covered laws, regulations and practices relating to licensing and operation of online services and products of varying descriptions including but not limited to VOD = Video on Demand, licensed to the user for a short-term period for a charge Electronic Sell-Through(EST), licensed to the user for an unlimited period for a higher charge, Preloads video content pre-installed on a hardware device, such as a tablet, for no added charge, Digital Locker (movie/tv purchases and rentals stored in cloud servers for access by verified purchasers) Paid Channels and Paid Channel Packages and others. We develop, revise and adapt clickwrap and related agreements for organizations operating digital platforms.
Our practice in this area has included extensive legal opinions to local and global companies, including successful court representations for clients and expositions on laws relating to the digital economy. Regimes covered by our work include the laws and related regulations of the Nigerian Communication Commissions, the Broadcasting Corporation of Nigeria, Nigerian Copyrights Commission, National Film and Video Census Board, Nigerian Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Nigeria Consumer Protection Council. We present regular Digital Law and Policy training pro-bono, supporting knowledge and skill improvements for middle level staff of regulatory bodies, sector agencies, legislative committees and other stakeholders.
