Our litigation practice has a team with experience undertaking specialist as well as broad based civil and commercial litigations. Our litigation experience has included cases on a broad range of subjects including but not limited to secure and unsecure credits, insolvency, foreclosure, diplomatic immunity, intellectual property, privacy, defamation, negligence, tortious liability, land related disputes, matrimonial causes and public Interest litigation in both High Courts and Appellate courts.
Representations before Tribunals and Panels have included cases at the Investment and Securities Tribunal, Administrative Proceedings Committee of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Special Investigative Panels, public panels of enquiry, disciplinary panels. Our litigation team also undertakes defense in criminal trials.
Our public interest litigation team has successfully undertaken more than 50 access to information litigations since 2011, this is in addition to several other public interest litigations including bank regulatory compliance issues with the CBN and compliance with statutory conditions for borrowing by public institutions.
Our team members regularly act as negotiators, mediators, arbitrators and subject matter specialists and have experience participating in and sometimes have led several arbitration proceedings before the international court of arbitration of the ICC.
