A & E Law Partnership has developed significant expertise in parliamentary support services dating back to the return of democracy in Nigeria in 1999. We provide integrated cutting edge parliamentary services that underpin development and good governance. We assess how proposed legislations impact on businesses, and support interest groups in preparing and presenting review positions at public hearings and advocating for needed changes.
We support clients in following the progress of legislation from conception through the legislative procedures down to enforcement. Articulating positively client position and concerns, liaising with trade associations, e.g Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC); direct interpersonal encounters and undertaking positive advocacy to relevant departments, with information on assessed impact of legislative and regulatory proposals. In this respect we have advised NGOs, International Agencies, government Ministries, Departments & Agencies, and select interest groups.
Our Parliamentary Support team is also experienced in providing advisory service to legislative Institutions and their internal structures like Committees, in drafting new bills, technical support to public hearings, consideration and passage of already introduced bills and development of related advocacy materials.
